Cookie Policy

1. Our approach

JetScribe uses browser storage that is strictly necessary to operate the service and remember your privacy choices. In production, we load our Google Tag Manager container. The container does not run an optional analytics or advertising tag unless you allow that purpose. You can allow analytics and advertising independently. Accepting and refusing are both offered together on the first screen of the banner and each takes a single click.

2. What we store

Strictly necessary storage is used under § 25(2) TDDDG. Optional analytics and optional advertising are each based on your consent under § 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent Mode defaults analytics storage, ad storage, ad user data, and ad personalisation to denied before Google Tag Manager loads, and no optional tag is permitted to fire before you opt in to its purpose.

• Authentication: Firebase Authentication stores your session and refresh tokens in your browser’s local storage or IndexedDB so you stay signed in. Without them you cannot use your account.
• Application state: small preference values, such as your last-used view settings, stored locally in your browser.
• Consent preference: we store jetscribe.analytics-consent in local storage. It records a separate granted or denied value for analytics and for advertising. This strictly necessary preference is shared by the marketing site and product on the same origin so that we can apply your choices without asking again. If we add a new purpose, we ask you about that purpose again rather than assuming your earlier answer covers it.
• Payments: when you open the Stripe checkout or billing portal, Stripe sets its own strictly necessary cookies for security and fraud prevention on its pages. See Stripe’s cookie notice for details.
• Google Tag Manager: production pages request our container from Google. Google Tag Manager manages the configured tags but is not permitted to run an optional tag while the consent for that tag’s purpose is denied.
• Optional analytics: after you allow analytics, Google Analytics 4 may use first-party identifiers and records pages, interactions, approximate location, and browser or device information. Analytics remains off if you refuse it.
• Optional advertising: after you allow advertising, Google Ads may set advertising storage and use first-party identifiers to measure whether a visit that began with one of our ads led to a sign-up or a purchase, and to show you our ads on other sites. Allowing advertising sets ad storage, ad user data, and ad personalisation to granted. All three remain denied if you refuse advertising, including when you allow analytics only.

3. Managing storage

Use the “Privacy choices” button at any time to allow or withdraw analytics consent, advertising consent, or both. The control is available on every marketing page and in the product. Withdrawal changes Consent Mode to denied for the purpose you withdrew and stops future collection for that purpose from that point forward; it does not undo processing that occurred before withdrawal.

You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings. This removes the saved consent choice and analytics identifiers, but also signs you out and resets local preferences. Blocking strictly necessary storage entirely will prevent sign-in from working.

4. When JavaScript is disabled

Production pages include Google Tag Manager’s standard no-JavaScript iframe. If JavaScript is disabled, the iframe can contact the Google Tag Manager endpoint even though the browser cannot read your saved choices or show the consent controls. The container must not contain a no-JavaScript-capable or consent-exempt tag, so this contact does not run Google Analytics 4 or a Google Ads tag, and sets no optional analytics or advertising storage.
